Miami Cigars Medina 1959 Corona Gorda are special. They are hand made at the Cuban Crafters Miami cigar factory by one of the world's most talented Cuban cigar roller. 1959 Miami Edition Corona Gorda cigars have that special and elegant taste that only pre-1959 Cuban cigars had. That's because they are made under the watchful eye of Manuel Medina, a legend in the history of Cuban cigars. From the dry Cuban-seed tobacco bunching to the precise blending of different tobacco leaves, this cigar yells quality and elegance. While it's beautiful to look it, it's even better to smoke.

The medium bodied smoke is filled with delightful tastes of toasted nuts, mild spices and smooth waves of butterscotch with sweet malt cream that coats your mouth and keeps you hoping it never ends. They can only be compared to the pre-Castro Cuban cigars that magically grabbed your attention at the start and kept you satisfied until the very end. The Cuban-seed Habano long-filler and binder are aged for 6 years and the super-premium Cuban-seed wrapper is aged for at least 5 years. This combination of tobacco was blended by Manuel Medina to match the exact taste that he remembers when he first started rolling cigars in Cuba. Each Corona Gorda cigar is 6 1/2 inches long with a large ring gauge of 64. Every single cigar has its own register number. 25 cigars are hand-packed in a cedar box that is also made by hand in Miami.

1959 was a year of luxurious self-indulgence, romance and when Fidel Castro changed the course of history in Cuba.Cigar Maker Manuel Medina It was also when Medina started rolling cigars. He eventually became one of the most celebrated Master Rollers in Cuba. Manuel Medina played a formidable role in Cuba's cigar history. He started as a roller at the H. Upmann factory in Cuba. His talents were quickly recognized and he eventually became the factory's Master Cigar Maker, overseeing hundreds of master cigar rollers. He was then promoted and became the Master Cigar Maker in Cuba's Davidoff factory. His talents were showcased throughout Europe, leading him to travel extensively. During one of those trips, he decided to seek freedom instead of success. Medina made Miami, Florida his new home. He is now in charge of cigar production at Cuban Crafters' Miami factory. Some of the Master Rollers who make the Medina 1959 Miami Edition cigars even worked for him in Cuba.

Medina 1959 Miami Edition re-creates the pre-Castro Cuban cigars, Master Cigar Roller Dagoberto when Cubans were considered the best in the world. These cigars are unquestionably captivating. Each one is hand made by a decorated Cuban born roller in Miami. These Medina 1959 Miami Edition Corona Gorda Cigars are hand made by Dagoberto Gonzalez. They exemplify the talents and skills of this life-long cigar maker. He has been rolling cigars for over 44 years and is a true Corona Gorda cigar expert. It's the size he prefers to roll, and smoke. Dagoberto arrived from Cuba a few months ago and started working at Cuban Crafters upon his arrival. Together with Medina, he continues to make cigars with magical qualities.

MEDIUM-BODIED. It starts out with delightful tastes of toasted nuts, mild spices and cream. You will quickly sense the waves of butterscotch with sweet malt cream that coats your mouth. The finish is an experience in itself as the complexity of all the tastes harmoniously merge.

Subject :: The hugest

The hugest cigar ringage ever. Totally new experience. What a cigar, i smoked it on a high way took me about 2,30 hours. Because of the ringage i choose the punch cutter. It was the right decision sense the stogie was an effortless draw. I only put the ash down twice. It is as described a delicious smoke. thank you madina

Subject :: Wow What a Place

I\'m from Michigan and every time I go down to Miami to visit my daughter I always go to CubanCrafters... it\'s been maybe little over a year since the last I was there. I was with my wife and daughter there and man have they made some huge improvements. You walk in they offer you a coffee or expresso... plus they have a deli bar restaurant now and they sell wine. Andres Montalvo one of there sales reps gave so much of his time helping me out and answering all my questions about all the different cigars. I bought cigars, wine and two sets of Presidential Wine Classes. But I didn\'t buy just any cigar I bought the Medina 1959 6.5x64 what an outstanding cigar... very smooth, great draw and even burn... this cigar will be a classic... Well... it is a classic now. Make sure you ask for Andres he\'s the man to help you out. Thanks CubanCrafters for making me feel welcome Larry from Michigan

STARS OF THE SHOW

Cuban Crafters Medina 1959 Miami Edition:
[United States: available in 5 sizes]

Unlike most of the Cuban Crafters line, the Medina 1959 Miami Edition is made in Miami by a team of 10 rollers, so availability is limited. This blend has won strong notices and it’s easy to understand why.

It is medium in body, with a spicy aroma and a rich, caramelized taste at the start. Very smooth, it burns evenly and while measured and precise, is also relaxed and satisfying.

A note of spice comes in on the finish at halfway and these two elements continues through in a balanced way to the finish. It’s not overpowering, but has lots of flavor and a modicum of subtlety, especially in the second half.

It’s easy to spot the Medina 1959 Miami Edition, as it has one of the largest bands on any cigar anywhere, including a second band with an individual registration number. All five sizes are presented in full-cedar boxes of 25, with retail pricing at $8.00-$9.60 each before local taxes.

Overall grade: A-: Excellent.
